Although little known around the world today, Juan Lopez has always attracted a following amongst aficionados of Havanas, most notably for the Selección No.2 size.
The brand offers a consistent medium to full flavour based on a rich blend of filler and binder leaves from the Vuelta Abajo zone and both sizes are ‘tripa larga, totalmente a mano’ – long filler, totally handmade.

The Juan López brand is launching Selección Especial, chosen by Habanos, S.A. to commemorate two unique anniversaries in 2020: the brand's 150th and the 30th anniversary of La Casa del Habano franchise network, which will exclusively market this product.
Selección Especial consists of 25 Habanos with unique dimensions and pleasant smoke, made “Totalmente a mano con tripa larga” - Totally Handmade with Long Filler - after painstaking selection of the wrapper, filler and binder leaves from vegas in the most prestigious area of Vuelta Abajo in the region of Pinar del Río, Cuba, and produced by expert Cuban torcedores - cigar rollers.
Juan López, one of the best-selling brands at the time of the revolution, owes its name to its creator, a Spanish man of the same name, who founded it in the 1870s. It is primarily known in small circles of smokers who are extremely loyal to the brand.
